Workshop-Social Media Tools

On 2 February 2021 a workshop on “Social Media Tools” was held to empower representatives from member organizations, mainstreaming gender, under the project tagged “capacity Building Development Action”. The aim of the workshop was to train a group of 15 participants, who were less conversant or at all conversant with the internet and social media, enabling them create an email address, use it and communicate with peers and stakeholders. The participants also learnt how to use Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

The activity was facilitated by Mr. Akhilesh Baboolull, Resource person and IT specialist from AYB Creations (https://ayb-creations.tech/). Some members of the Executive Committee also joined the capacity building Programme. At the end of the workshop all the participants were enabled to create one email address and use it to communicate. They were also able to surf the net as well as create/connect to an account on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube with more confidence.

Addressing the participants at the end of the workshop, the Chairman of the Council extended gratitude to the representatives of the member organizations for their participation in the project. The importance of the internet and social media tools for NGOs were highlighted by the Chairman and he invited member organizations to regularly visit the new website of MACOSS at www.macoss.mu and remain connected. The Chairman invited member organizations to showcase their work and activities using the website of MACOSS.
